Privacy
We build tools that keep your work on your computer, and we run this website the same way. This page explains, in plain words, what information reaches us when you visit byastrohub.com or write to us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
The short version
- You can read this whole website without giving us anything. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't set cookies of our own.
- If you use the support form, we receive your name, email address and message, and we use them only to reply to you.
- We never sell your information, share it for marketing, or add you to a mailing list.
- A few trusted services help us run the site and deliver your message. They are listed below.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete what you sent us at any time.
What this page covers
This notice covers byastrohub.com: the homepage, this page and the support form. It does not cover our apps or other websites.
- Saros and Astrolabe each have their own website, with their own privacy details. Our apps work without an account, and your code and your work stay on your computer.
- Our agent skills are listed on Agensi, and our code lives on GitHub. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
What we collect
When you visit the site:
- Like every website, our hosting provider receives basic technical details with each request: your IP address, your browser and device type, the page you asked for and the time. This is needed to deliver the page and keep the site secure. We don't use it to build a profile of you.
- We don't run analytics, heatmaps, session recording or advertising tools.
When you use the support form:
- The name, email address, product, topic and message you enter.
- The address of the page you sent it from and your browser's user agent, so we can understand problems you report.
- Technical signals collected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells people from bots. See “Spam protection” below.
Please don't include passwords, keys, private code or other sensitive information in your message. If we need more detail, we will ask.
How we use it
- To read your message and reply to you by email.
- To follow up on the same conversation, for example to ask for more detail about a bug.
- To keep the form and the site safe from spam and abuse.
Where privacy laws such as the GDPR ask us to name a legal basis: we reply to you because you asked us to, and we protect the site from abuse because we have a legitimate interest in keeping it working.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your information.
- Share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.
- Add you to a newsletter or mailing list without asking.
- Use your message to train AI models.
Services that help us
We use a small number of service providers. Each one only handles your information to do its job for us.
- Cloudflare hosts this website, protects it from attacks, and runs Turnstile on the support form.
- Resend delivers the email that carries your message to our team inbox, and our confirmation email to you.
- Google (Gmail) hosts our team inbox, where your message and our replies are kept.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours. They protect it under their own security and data protection terms.
Spam protection
The support form uses Cloudflare Turnstile instead of a puzzle. It checks technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details, to tell whether a person is sending the form. Cloudflare says it uses these signals to detect and block bots, not to identify or profile people. Most of the time you won't see it at all.
The form also limits how many messages one connection can send in an hour, so that nobody can flood our inbox.
How long we keep it
We keep support conversations for as long as we need them to help you, and for up to two years after our last reply, so we can pick up a conversation again if the same problem comes back. After that we delete them. If you ask us to delete a conversation sooner, we will.
Our providers keep their own technical logs for short periods, to run and secure their services.
Keeping it safe
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Only the team can read support messages, and access to our inbox and accounts is protected. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we collect small, which is one of the best protections there is.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Show you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your messages and our replies.
- Stop using your information for a particular purpose.
To make a request, use the support form and pick “Something else”. We will reply within one month. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Our website and tools are made for adults who build software. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you think a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters for messages you have already sent, we will tell you by email.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, ask us through the support form. A person on the team reads every message.
